Educating in a spirit of audacity and hope

Strategic Plan

Sacred Heart College

I am delighted to present to you this executive summary of the Strategic Plan 2009–2015.  The key understandings and goals of the Strategic Plan are:

  • The continuation and enhancement of our Catholic mission as expressed by the vision statement.
  • The enhancement of creative and effective learning and personal growth as our core work.
  • Support for learning process through enhanced human and physical resources.
  • Recognition of the value of each person and celebration of their individuality.
  • Inclusivity and success for all as a matter of justice.
  • Accountability to students, parents, the Marist Brothers and funding agencies for our performance and use of resources.
  • Staff and student well-being and resilience in an intensive and rapidly changing environment.
  • Building community amongst students, staff and families, and the building-up of our Tri-Schools community.

As a Catholic school in the Marist tradition, the future to which we look is the one presented to us in the Gospel accounts of the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ of Christian faith.

This future is described as the “Reign” or “Kingdom” of God. It is a future in which our relationships with each other, our relationships with God and the created world reflect the goodness and right order intended by God.

We, a college community, has a vision of how our endeavours and communal life contribute to the building of the wider communities of which we are part, and of the knowledge, skills, competencies and attitudes which will enable young people.

The School Vision is a tapestry which blends the key strands of our identity as an Australian Catholic secondary school which inspired by the example of Saint Marcellin Champagnat.
